Sheet Music Guy !

I spend a lot of my spare time on musical pursuits. Some of this time includes figuring out songs on piano, and arranging them until they sounded good. This in itself was fun for a little while, but it wasn’t long before I got frustrated at the fact that it usually didn’t result in anything lasting or productive. I figured out a song, played it until it was boring, and then stopped. Time gone, nothing accomplished. Great.

I spent a lot of time thinking about ways to turn these hobbies into something productive, when the idea for this site came. If, after I had a good song worked out, I added a bit more effort to transpose it to sheet music, I could create some quasi-original content which someone might find valuable. I can make YouTube videos of myself performing these songs, which doubles as both marketing and part of the content. The audio from these videos can serve as a play-along guide. Then I can put all three pieces of content into a package and host it on a site somewhere. This is that site. Welcome!

When I say “piano arrangements”, this doesn’t just mean I figured the song out and scored it as-is. It means that I’ve figured it out and determined, to the best of my musical ability, the ideal arrangement of the piece for solo piano that best captures the spirit of the song. Whether I actually accomplish this or not I leave up to you It can be a lot of work, but it is rewarding and enjoyable, and I want to share the results with you.
