Sheet Music: Linkin_Park_-_Crawling.pdf

This is a single off their first album, “Hybrid Theory”. It can also be found on their new “Road to Revolution” live CD/DVD

This is in response to a request by J, who thinks that it’s heavy sound will be hard to imitate on piano and was wondering if I was up to the challenge.
Rather than accent it’s heaviness, (except for the end), I went the complete other direction, and softened it up in this interpretation.
It’s actually a very melodic song once you strip away the beats and distortion, and I tried to bring that to the foreground.

This was a lot of fun to put together, and I think you’ll like it too. Easy to play, and lots of room to breathe and emote. I really enjoyed doing this one…and I think it shows. One of my better performances.

It’s good to be back :)

Wow, it really sounds different, yet the same. I actually do prefer this version, but imagine Linkin Park singing this x]

Wow. First of all, WELL DONE. And I’d never expect you to pick out one of my suggestions. The performance is flawless, well at least none that i could point out at the moment.

I’ve actually always imagined what Crawling would be like without the heavy metal and on piano. Your version on piano meets my expectations and surpasses it.
The melody shines more here than with the heavy beat original rock song. The rising tone and the melody is one of the main points that makes the song so special.

The variation is also done superbly. Using the lower octaves in conjunction with the higher octaves with the excellent use of tone also puts the music at a whole different level from your other music that you’ve done so far, yet you still added the notes in such a way that one could easily distinct it from other sheet music that it’s yours.

The ending, i’m assuming, would give everyone a good feeling (no clue how to describe it.) It’s like a climax that everyone’s been waiting for, whereas in the original song, there’s only two-three different tones.

In the end, it’s a great song, and if I were the one making this sheet music, I wouldn’t really put change any notes because it’s simply too well-done to be amplified.
