Dragonette - Get Around (cover)
Hey all,
Just to change things up a bit…
I recorded a cover song the past few days and I’d like to share it with you.
There’s a Canadian band called Dragonette that has a pretty big single around here, called I Get Around
Check it out here: http://www.myspace.com/dragonetteband
I made a version of it on my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/aeonlung
One version with beat, and one pure acoustic…which one’s better?
Full downloads there too, if you like it.
Enjoy!

This is a single off their first album, “Hybrid Theory”. It can also be found on their new “Road to Revolution” live CD/DVD
This is in response to a request by J, who thinks that it’s heavy sound will be hard to imitate on piano and was wondering if I was up to the challenge.
Rather than accent it’s heaviness, (except for the end), I went the complete other direction, and softened it up in this interpretation.
It’s actually a very melodic song once you strip away the beats and distortion, and I tried to bring that to the foreground.
This was a lot of fun to put together, and I think you’ll like it too. Easy to play, and lots of room to breathe and emote. I really enjoyed doing this one…and I think it shows. One of my better performances.
It’s good to be back ![]()
Wedding done! Back to the grind…
Hey everybody!
I finished playing the wedding last week and it went pretty well. No screw ups! woo hoo!! There was a professional videographer there so hopefully when the video comes back I can post a version of it on the site.
Songs include Five For Fighting’s 100 years, and Faber Drive’s Tongue Tied, which worked really well when the bride was marching down the isle. As for the wedding march itself, I made a bit of a mashup of the two main wedding march themes (Mendelssohn & Handel), I’ll probably post something up here for it eventually for any other wedding pianists that might find it useful.
Recently, aside from this, I’ve been wading through the requests I’ve gotten and one of them really caught my eye. “Hmmm”, I said to myself, “this could work”…….so I bashed it out, and yes…it did work. I taped the performance yesterday and I’ll hopefully have the sheets made and the whole thing posted really soon.
First new content in over 3 months!! wooo!
